Windows is updated at least once a month. Most virus scanners are updated on a daily basis. Systems protected with HDGUARD can be kept constantly up to date by means of configuring update periods. Within such an update period, the PC starts up with deactivated hard drive protection; normal users cannot log on and the system can load and install updates.
HDGUARD provides three update periods that can be configured in accordance with different criteria. The PC starts up automatically at the relevant time defined – via BIOS settings or controlled by HDGUARD.master – executes the actions previously defined and shuts down the system again or restarts it. In addition, regardless of the relevant settings made, maintenance work can also be carried out or the execution of batch files triggered.
